TEA TIME!

Coffee and Tea Zone can blend up a mean beverage and I can play a mean chord or two. Together we rocked the socks off of onlookers while simultaneously quenching their thirst; a win-win if you ask me. During the Friday night performance, Sean accompanied me on guitar and I played the store's Upright Piano. See for yourself.

Footage from March first @ The Black Sheep

I was pleased to open for Inner Party System (along with Denver DJ Option 4) at The Black Sheep on March first. The evening began well enough with Option 4's set; a pulse-pounding-electro-jam-session that got the crowd jumping right in time for my own performance. Sean and I kept the audience moving with songs like Fantasy, Boom Boom Love Gun and the crowd favorite Mr. Blue. My disco-ball inspired ensemble shined in every direction and attracted the eyes of the audience (as I hoped it would.) The night wouldn't have been complete without the multi-layered sounds of Inner Party System. The crowd rushed to hear their dance-heavy tunes and the LED lights were a nice touch (I almost had a seizure but I'm ok with that.) Afterward, I handed out free CDs and had breakfast with my lady at The Waffle House. Next show? An acoustic set at Chapel Hill's Hot Topic. Free to the public. Below is some footage from the show. Excuse the Audio.

Inner Party System with Special Guest Maddix Jay

Did you miss my performance at The Black Sheep on February fourth? If so, you'll be pleased to know that I will be returning to the aforementioned venue along with InnerPartySystem. Below I've included my setlist as well as an illustration of the look I will grace the stage in; a sparkling ensemble agleam with shattered glass and mirrors. As before, Sean will be accompany me on electric (as well as acoustic) Guitar. The doors of the venue will open at approximately seven thirty and the show will begin shortly thereafter. If you'd like to buy your tickets in advance, you may do so for ten dollars. Otherwise, twelve dollars at the door. That being said, here's my set list;

Heavy Bass and a side of fries.

Last night's show at The Black Sheep was wicked-awesome. The nachos and fries I ate afterward were equally wicked-awesome. Denny's is my best friend. Despite a few minor setbacks Sean and I rocked it. There are a few more shows in the works, including an acoustic set at Chapel Hills' Hot Topic, and The St. Pantie's Day Party @ The 40 Thieves Hookah Lounge. I'm stoked for both. Are you?

Below is a clip from the show. Enjoy.

February 4, 2011, Black Sheep SET LIST

I had planned on performing a native drum chant featuring rain sticks and a cow belle solo by Blake Baldwin. But alas, the African dance troupe got attacked by a herd of buffalo, and I can't for the life of me find my rain stick. At any rate, the show will continue. And joining me on this fantastic voyage will be Blake Baldwin on Bass and Sean Sjolander on Lead Guitar. We've been rehearsing for the past few weeks, and the boys are sounding pretty good. On February 4 prepare for a musical explosion to be injected in to your brain; the funk will ooze out of your ears and collect in a pile on the floor.
Maddix Jay is not liable for any loss of hearing, or epileptic seizures. It is highly advised that attendees take discretion...and wear earmuffs.

The set list is as follows;

1. Fantasy
2. Fiend
3. Shrink
4. Boom Boom Love Gun
(Band Break)
5. Mr. Blue
6. Mourning Time
(Band Returns.)
7. Mr. Arnold Desmond Billsworth
8. I Dress in Black
9. Take Me Alive
10. Technicolor Rocketship

(El Fin.)
